What is it?

The Zonnins Sales Tax Scanner © is an iPhone app that allows users to take picture of their receipts and automatically stores the sales tax information and sums it for easy reporting on your tax returns. This replaces the need to buy a clunky desktop scanner. Scan your receipts anywhere and throw them out.

Features include:
- Use OCR technology to automatically scan receipts; we continually will update the app with the latest OCR technology
- Create PDF reports of receipts based on year and receipt type
- Quickly scroll through dozen of past receipts to track expenses
- Store appropriate information required for deducting sales taxes on your tax returns
- Quicker than buying a desktop scanner
- The app info page includes more information on how to take advantage of the sales tax deduction

Can I throw away the receipts?

Yup! IRS Bulletin No. 1997–13 confirms the admissibility of using electronically saved receipts. The IRS doesnt allow taxpayers to use their credit card reports as evidence of receipts so thats why its important to save pictures. Now take a picture of those receipts and start saving!

Should I be worried about privacy?

Unlike many free apps which collect your information and sell it, we dont collect any of your information. In fact, you can use our app in airplane mode as it doesnt connect to the internet. We believe our users would prefer a paid app to maintain their privacy.

Who should I email about questions?
